Overview of Element Repository
An Element is a component or object that users interact with on the interface of a system or application to perform specific actions. Users can interact directly with it by clicking, inputting data, selecting options, or simply observing it as it displays information on the screen.
To conduct automated testing, the system needs to identify the XPath of the element or object that users need to interact with. XPath acts as the unique identifier or address of an element, enabling the tool to locate and recognize it on the screen. XPaths for elements are defined based on various attributes such as name, id, label, class, text, etc.
During software development, element attributes may occasionally change, which directly impacts the corresponding XPath. If such a changed element is referenced in multiple test scenarios, manually searching for and updating all affected scenarios can be time-consuming and error-prone, with the risk of missing some updates.
To address this issue, LLQ QA Platform introduced the Element Repository feature. So, what is an Element Repository?
